Registration for August 5-7 Family Camp is now open at DiscoverySoutheast.org/familycamp2024.  Our other, regular 2024 summer camps are currently full.

For children registered in camp the weeks of July 22 and 29, please review the important information below to ensure your child is ready for camp!  If you’d like to view the full camp info including the summer schedule, FAQs, and more, the original registration page is here.

Check your inboxes the week before camp for an email with additional details (drop-off and pick-up locations, times, staff contact info, etc). It typically goes out on Wednesday or Thursday.

PACKING LIST

Your child needs to bring the following items every day to camp:

  • A day-pack
  • A full water bottle
  • Lunch and snacks (Pack more than you think! Campers often get hungry exploring all day outside)
  • Footwear: hiking boots or shoes on dry days and rubber boots on rainy days
  • Waterproof jacket and pants
  • Layers! (All campers must have an insulation layer to go on top of a t-shirt, either that they are wearing or have in their pack. Temperatures fluctuate a lot throughout the day, so be ready to adjust)
  • Extra socks and a full change of clothes in a sealed Ziploc bag
  • Sunscreen and a hat on sunny days
  • Bug spray (optional)

Campers will need to carry their own backpack so please only pack what they are able to carry on their own.

If any of these items are hard to come by, please let us know – we have gear to lend!
