3rd-5th graders, join us for day-long trips during school in-service days. It’s like summer camp for a day! We’ll spend the whole day outside, exploring Juneau’s awesome outdoors while playing games, learning, and having fun.
Why Discovery Days? By bringing kids outside and exploring the natural world, we create an understanding of our connection to nature and a better understanding of ourselves. There are not many places in the world where access to incredibly pristine and remote wilderness is just a step outside the door. Through Discovery Days kids learn about the opportunities at their fingertips and become capable and conscientious explorers. Also, being outside is fun!
Sliding tuition means it’s affordable for every family. When you sign up on the program page just click the scholarship option and pay whatever is right for your family.

w with Discovery Days? In addition to these advertised days outdoors, this year we’re offering an additional suite of days in coordination with community organizations that directly serve at-risk children. These Discovery Days will work with those groups to offer day-long excursions serving children less likely to spend time outdoors. This expansion of Discovery Days is generously supported by Coeur Alaska. We’re excited to continue expanding our reach to all Juneau kids!
