Middle schoolers: spend a week kayaking through Favorite Channel, camping on the beach and exploring the wildlife of the Channel Islands!Join Discovery Southeast and Above and Beyond Alaska for our teen kayak camp, where we will head Out The Road in search of adventure! From paddling with sea lions to camp cooking competitions, our focus for the week will be developing and sharing our outdoor skills.
We’ll offer this week-long trip on June 10-14 2019. Each week we will spend the first morning meeting the group and reviewing gear before heading to the Eagle Valley Center for the first night of camping. For the rest of the week, we will cook meals over a camp stove, paddle through the beautiful waters of Southeast Alaska, and experience the shores and wildlife before returning to Juneau on Friday afternoon.
Meals, paddle gear, and instructors/guides are included in the cost. Kayak experience is not required, but an attitude of excitement to be active outdoors in all weather is a must! Full tuition is $440. However, tuition can easily be waived or discounted.
