There’s a lot to Discover this winter!
1. Our Annual Banquet & Auction will be the evening of March 30 at the JACC. Save the date, tickets available soon!
2. Spring Break Camp and the March 1st Discovery Day are for 2nd – 6th graders and now have registration open here.
3. Thank you Pick Click Give donors! As you apply for your PFD this year, know that your donations make Discovery Southeast programs possible.
4. Summer Camp registration will open the last week of March, and weekly themes will be announced early March. You will be able to register online, and a few spots will be held for the annual Youth Summer Camp Expo at Centennial Hall on March 30th.
5. JuneauNature Seminars are weekend education for teachers and the public. We are offering three this winter and spring, register here. Teachers can receive free professional development credits.
6. Check out the new, local Art Show at the Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center. This month’s theme is “Salmon Forest,” and March is “Lesser Known Winged Things of Alaska.” We are excited to work with the US Forest Service to see the Glacier represent our community! It’s open in Winter Fri – Sun 10-4, in addition to Friday Fireside Lectures from 6-9pm.
7. Gorgeous place, great people, wonderful cause. We are hiring for summer at our Mendenhall Glacier Visitor Center Bookstore. We have several positions, whether you’re a looking for a first job or very experienced in retail. More info here.
